Family Legal Ltd is the data controller for the information described here and is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under number ZC018853. The information we collect
You can read most of this site without giving us any personal information. We collect personal data when you choose to share it, for example when you email us, use our contact form, or download a resource that asks for your details. Our free tools, such as the parenting plan, are designed so you can use them without creating an account, and anything you type into a tool stays with you unless the tool clearly says otherwise. We also collect limited technical information, such as pages visited, through analytics cookies if you accept them.
How we use it
We use your details to reply to you, provide anything you have requested, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Our lawful bases are our legitimate interests in running a free resource, consent for non-essential cookies and any marketing you sign up for, and contract where you ask us for something specific. We do not sell your data.
Our community and third parties
Our main community space is a Facebook group. Anything you post there is governed by Facebook’s own terms and privacy policy, so please take care with what you share. We link to other websites and services we think are helpful, including our sister services Mediate UK and Family Law Service, and we say so openly where we do. We are not responsible for how other websites handle your data.
Sharing and retention
We only share personal data with providers who help us run the site, such as hosting and analytics services, under contracts that protect it, or where the law requires. We keep correspondence only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, then delete it.
Your rights
You have the right to request a copy of your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to ask us to delete it, and to object to or restrict some uses. Email hello@thedivorcecircle.co.uk to make a request. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
